A UGLL - União de Grémios de Lojistas de Lisboa foi criada na sequência da transformação da ACLL - Associação Comercial de Lojistas de Lisboa, tendo sido constituída pelo agrupamento dos grémios de comerciantes de retalho e abrangendo entidades singulares ou coletivas que exerciam qualquer modalidade de comércio em estabelecimentos de venda direta ao público.
Após o 25 de Abril de 1974, a UGLL deu origem à atual UACS.
